I am motivated to share some important tidbits from my deep dive cancer journey as I've been learning vast amounts of useful information. Hopefully some of this knowledge can be a benefit to others on their cancer path and general health journey. This particular post involves a bacteria  and virus that can distract the body from fighting and identifying cancer therefore allowing cancer to proliferate and thrive. Please note I am not a medical doctor, nor am I prescribing any direct medical advice here.

One of the many reasons I love alternative methods of care is that it actually searches for the CAUSE of the illness rather than just treating the effect. Standard method of care never looked at my blood work to question what deficiencies might be lurking in my body. It saddens me to think of all the cancer patients who's doctors never probed beneath the surface to find out WHY cancer was created in the first place. My ideology is: How can you treat an illness if you don't know the cause of it?

Months ago I discovered  that I had Chlamydia Pneumoniae (CPv). This is a bacterium that can mask cancer and distract the bodies’ immune system into battling CPn instead of the cancer cells. Epstein Barr (EBV) is a virus that can act in a similar manner. CPv and Epstein Barr can also mask symptoms of other maladies as well including: Lyme Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Shronic Fatigue, Asthma, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Prostatitis, Alzheimer's disease, Crohn's disease, Inflammatory bowel disease and others.

There are many similarities to how Cancer and Lyme disease affect the body. It is common for both Cancer and Lyme patients  to have Chlamydia Pneumoniae or Epstein Barr, which can pre-date the Cancer or Lyme growth.  A blood test will determine if CPn or EBV are present.

What is Chlamydia Pneumoniae and why is it so troublesome:

"While it may start as a respiratory infection, CPn can be carried to other parts of the body and infect many other tissues, including nerve tissue, the brain, muscles, kidneys, liver, prostrate, the lining of blood vessels and even your immune cells (macrophages and monocytes). Thus a wide array of problems can be caused by this single bug.

CPn is a common cause of respiratory illness, but it has an interesting and abnormal way of existing because it can change forms and inhabit the very cells of your body. It can go into your monocytes (a blood cell), your macrophages (an immune cell) microglia (a brain cell that causes immune reaction), endothelial cells (blood vessels) and others and actually take over. We say then it has parasitized the cell. Your cell can't do the work it was meant to do now because it's busy supporting the CPn, all the energy of the cell going to make energy for the CPn and it using that energy to make new CPn cells. For all intents and purposes, your cell is no longer a functional cell and cannot do what it was designed to do."  *1 (see reference list below)

Chlamydia Pneumoniae can actually cause Pneumonia, but after the lung infection is cleared CPn will stay in the body.

Dr. Hahn believes that the main cause of asthma is Chlamydia Pneumoniae which would make sense as CPn is a respiratory infection.

Epstein Barr:

"The Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) is one of the most common viral infections in humans – around 19 in every 20 adults carry the virus. In terms of the sheer number of people infected, it’s one of the most prolific viruses the world has ever seen.

And in most of us, it appears to cause no harm at all. But there’s a sinister side to the virus too. In some people, it can cause cancer. In fact, EBV was the first virus found to cause cancer in humans. We now know that, every year, EBV infections trigger 200,000 new cases of cancer – and more than 140,000 deaths – worldwide."  *2

How does Epstein Barr cause cancer?

"The last of these, the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), has always been a bit mysterious. It is responsible for mononucleosis, and suspected of being a cause of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), although this disease remains poorly understood.

EBV has just given up some of its secrets. Dr. Michelle West and colleagues at the University of Sussex in the UK, discovered that the virus alters the function of two genes, MYC, and BCL2L11, which have different functions in the life cycle of cells. When MYC is activated, it promotes cell growth, leading to uncontrolled cell profliferation—the hallmark of cancer. BCL2L11 has the opposite job. This gene, when activated, promotes a process known as apoptosis - a series of events that result in the death of a cell. The mechanism by which these genes in cells— in this case B cells, a type of white blood cell— was previously unknown.

The Sussex group found that EBV infection alters the function of both genes. It does this by hijacking the cellular DNA, turning on MYC and turning off BCL2L11. Now the infected B cells have defective genes, in which two processes have been altered. Cell proliferation is turned on while programmed cell death is turned off." *3

How do you treat Chlamydia Pneumoniae and Epstein Barr? Depending on the severity it is possible to treat them with the use of herbs (as I am doing) or for more extreme cases antibiotics will be prescribed. I always think the best course of action for any dis-ease in the body is to treat the body as a whole.

When I was first diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer I took a deep breath and asked myself these questions:

How did my mind contribute to the illness? What habits, patterns, and ways of being do not ultimately serve me? How can I change my diet and lifestyle to promote a healthy body for optimum healing? What inner work do I need to do to find the key to my own healing?

Instead of rushing in for a quick fix treatment, I encourage you to take the time to listen to the core needs of your body, mind and spirit. You are given all the tools you need for healing; if your body created an illness, you can most likely heal it. Our minds are much more powerful than we give ourselves credit for. The sheer belief that WE CAN heal something creates a template that allows the body to rid itself of any malady.

Hopefully this information about CPn and EBV will help shed some light that there is much more going on with a cancer diagnosis than you initially might be told. I encourage you to dig deep, ask questions, find practitioners and doctors that will SUPPORT YOU in your goal of an embodied healing plan. Many of the standard practitioners unfortunately rush their cancer patients into chemotherapy without any back up blood tests to determine the cause of the illness or research if the chemotherapy will actually work for you. (There are blood tests you can take to determine if a particular chemotherapy drug is effective at killing cancer cells.)

I encourage you to take time to do your own research. If you have a tumor, most likely it has been there already for 2-7 years depending on the size of it. You have time to take a breath and find out your authentic route of healing. Treat your body with love and in turn you will have the optimum tools for healing!

With love,

Tara
