Thriving with Stage 4 Cancer
I was honored to be invited to give a 5 minute talk to cancer patients & their families on all the Hawaiian Islands. The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony was put on by Hawaii Pacific Health & Wilcox Medical Center. This year it was on Zoom.
I shared my 4.5 year journey with breast cancer & how powerful it was to come back home to Kauai, Hawaii and be treated by the wonderful staff at Wilcox. I truly am so grateful to them and owe my life to them. The Aloha Spirit is alive here at Wilcox!
I practiced this speech many times and each time when I mentioned the death of my best friend Deb I would crack up crying. I conveniently placed my mention of her near the end as I suspected tears would be evoked when I presented as well. It was the case as you can see here. My love runs deep for my bestie even though she passed 5.5 years ago! ♥️
All of you going through cancer please know:
You are so much stronger than you think you are!
Find your inner strength as your guiding light and continue to find the beauty, I promise you, it is there! ✨🙌🏽✨
I kept the brief end on when I was done with my talk as I thought my expression of relief, laughter and smile was pretty cute!
I hope you enjoy it and it brings you inspiration for your most challenging moments.
Aloha and love from Kauai!
